E.L. Doctorow: Three Complete Novels: Billy Bathgate/World's Fair/Loon Lake
Published in Hardcover by Outlet (May, 1994)
Average review score:

ExcellentMy feeble writing can not convey the richness and color of E.L.Doctorow's words to skillfully put the reader within another place and time. World's Fair is so poignant and vivid. If you want to be swept off and taken on a journey, read these 3 novels. E.L. is of course a master.

Eagle Rock: The Memoirs of a Little Girl, 1941-45
Published in Hardcover by Reflection Pub Co (April, 2003)
Average review score:

A nostalgic memoir of a simpler life and timeLake Pylant Monhollon's Eagle Rock: The Memoirs Of A Little Girl 1941-45 is a nostalgic memoir of a simpler life and time. Quaint black-and-white silhouette-drawings by George Ann Brock nicely embellish this warmhearted remembrance of a wonderful childhood and an era when possessions were not necessarily seen as the key to all happiness. Eagle Rock is commended as an especially well written and refreshing read.

The Eagle's Voice : Tales Told by Indian Effigy Mounds
Published in Paperback by Prairie Oak Press (April, 2001)
Average review score:

A kind of anthropological detective storyGary Maier's The Eagle's Voice: Tales Told By Indian Effigy Mounds is a kind of anthropological detective story based on Maier's research involving a group of about fifty Indian effigy and conical mounts located on the north shore of Lake Mendota, in Madison, Wisconsin. In his explorations Maier developed a new understanding and insight into these structures which had fascinated and puzzled Europeans and Americans from the 1830s down to the present day. Exceptionally "reader friendly", The Eagle's Voice is enthusiastically recommended reading for the non-specialist general reader with an interest in Native American culture in general, and the effigy mounds of Wisconsin in particular.

Eggs in the Lake
Published in Hardcover by Bookslinger (January, 1979)

Marvelous Book of Poetry. Should be back in print. What John Logan said about this poet in the introduction to the book was excellently perception. This is a poet who creates bonds with the reader, a poet of rich imagination and startling imagery. This poems are as true today as when they were written in the1970's and this poet has gone on to produce more good books and works judging from the reviews she's received from fine poets and critics from every school and literary persuasion. Buy a used copy of you can get one. They are valuable collector's items, indeed.

El Lago De LA Luna: UN Relato De Ivan Gantschev
Published in Hardcover by North South Books (September, 1996)
Average review score:

Best Loved book by Elementary School StudentsI am a reading teacher at an elementary school. I have read this book to three classes that I have taught over a period of two and one half years. The ages of the kids range from 6 to 10 years old. All three groups have absolutely loved this book and asked me read it to them again and again. They love the shiny moon and the shiny moon rocks. In accordance with the curriculum of the program I work for, I read a new book every four days, but so far El Lago De La Luna has been the one that the children can't get enough of. Dazzle the Dinosaur comes in second place. I strongly recommend this book.

El mar
Published in Paperback by Barrons Educational Audio (February, 1987)
Average review score:

El MarI have dozens of children's books in Spanish, which I use for teaching my 2yr old daughter Spanish and this is one of my favorites. My daughter really likes some of the pretty illustrations, specially the ones with the seagulls and fishes. The textual descriptions are simple and suitable for reading to very young children. Living in the U.S. Pacific Northwest, it's very difficult to find good children's books in Spanish. Many books are translated from English, and many have spelling and grammatical errors. This book is written and printed in Spain. It has a European flavor.

The Emerald Sea: Exploring the Underwater Wilderness of the Pacific Northwest and Alaska

Encyclopedia of Associations Regional, State, and Local Organizations: Great Lakes States (7th Ed)
Published in Hardcover by Gale Group (September, 1997)
Average review score:

A wealth of informationIf you're looking for different organizations in your area, look no further than the Encyclopedia of Associations. I was on a mission to find listings of non-profits in the Chicago area and I couldn't find anyone with a comprehensive list until I found this book at Amazon.com. The book is broken down by state and then by city so it is very easy to find what you are looking for. And as an additional bonus, the local chapter of national organizations like the American Heart Assoc. and American Lung Assoc. were also listed. A definite must have!
